Ranging from ages 15 to 17, venture scouts offers new levels of freedom and control to it’s members. As with all other age groups, experience isn’t needed to join and new members will be taught by their fellow ventures all that they need to know. Ventures are very independent compared to the younger age groups with scouters taking a much more hands off approach.
What we’ve been up to
- Ventures at Woidla’24What an incredible 11 days our Venture Scout section had in Austria where they attended Woidla24 jamboree (among approx 3000 other scouts)! Some of the activities included abseiling, high ropes, canoeing, camp craft & hiking. Many memories & new international friends were made.
- Ventures: Year in Review 2018-2019What a great year for our Ventures section! From hiking in Larch Hill and walking Darkness into Light for Pieta House to working as Patrol Leaders at our group camp in Roscommon! - Venture Scouts on a Backwoods overnightOn the weekend of the 8th – 9th March the venture scouts went to Kippure in Wicklow to do some backwoods skills training. It was a big success with everyone having a great time.
- Niamh receives a Garda Youth AwardIt is great to have one of our youth members receive this Award. Niamh’s was awarded a Garda Youth Award last Friday for her scouting involvement and positive attitude over the last year despite undergoing a heart transplant! We are delighted to have Niamh as one of our ventures.
- Venture Camp Day 2Day two Well, the blue team covered a mammoth 37km to make it to a wood in lisdoonvarna, a very weary team were met by their leaders on Tuesday night.
